About Kuching Port Authority

In collaboration with The Sarawak General Hospital’s Blood Bank, Kuching Port Authority had organized a Blood Donation Campaign on the 29 September 2026 at Theatre Hall, Level 1, Port Operations Building, Pending. Twenty-Eight (28) staff / members of public had successfully donated their blood.   The Authority would like to thank all participants for their noble effort and sacrifice made to save life. The Chinese community at Kuching Port celebrated the “Hungry Ghosts” festival (Zhong Yuan Jie / Yu Lan Hui / Chinese All Souls’ Day) on Sunday, 10 September 2023 at Pending and Senari Terminals.   During the Seventh Lunar Month, it is believed that the gate of hell is open would to allow spirits to go back to the living world.  Those who have families visit their families and those without families roam the streets seeking food and entertainment.  Thus, every year on the Seventh Lunar Month, with the support and sponsorship from KPA management, staff and the port users, KPA Yu Lan Hui Committee organizes the celebration at Pending and Senari Terminal where offerings are made to appease the spirits and ghosts.   The Management would like to thank all the sponsors and helpers who made the event possible. KPA Staff and the port users were preparing for the ceremony.
